Running mate

Last night I went for run with my pooch, a 6 month old German Shepherd mutt. He was definately more interested in everything else other than running. Birds and leaves are his favorite things to try and chase, however he can only get 6 feet from me, the length of his leash. We went just shy of 4 miles in 30 minutes. Not to shabby I suppose.

With the 10k nearing, my goal is simply to beat Chris. He has yet to start running during the week, and only goes on a short run on Sunday's. This Sunday will be a little more difficult for a run. We have a couple of places to show up at for Easter.

Plan for tonight:
5-6 mile run in under 1 hour, potentially with the pooch. And then I'll do ab work while Grey's is on.

Journey beginings

The race to 26.2 has begun. I have registered for the Chicago Marathon this fall. Along the training way I will be running in a couple of other races, like the Bayshore 10K Memorial day weekend.

Running the Chicago Marathon has always been a life goal for me, one more thing to check off the "bucket list"! With hopefully many more check marks to come. Currently I am running about 15 miles a week. I have not ran the past couple of days because my knee is bothering me. I would rather take a day or two off now than be forced to take a week off later.

I saw my Chiropractor yesterday, she is keeping a clother eye on all of my bones and making sure I don't hurt myself.

I am also taking this bucket list opportunity to raise money for charity. The Cyctic Fibrosis Foundation. If you wish to donate you can do so here: www.cff.org/giftreg/alysonmichner

Thanks for your support.
